How to Create a Building in Baguame
To create a building in Baguame, upload a floor plan, crop it, define its center, and set north. Baguame then shows its Feng Shui calculators on your plan. In the interface, a building is called a space. A space can be an apartment, a house, or an office.
Before you begin
You need:
- An image of your floor plan. A photo, scan, screenshot, or hand sketch is enough. Supported formats are JPG, PNG, WEBP, TIFF, and HEIC, up to 15 MB. To use a PDF, upload a screenshot of it.
- The direction of north. Use a compass or the north arrow on your plan. If neither is available, compare the plan with a satellite map of your address.
Create the space
- In the sidebar, click Spaces.
- Click Add New Space.
- Optional: In Building Name, replace the default name.
- Click Select Image, and then choose your plan.
The setup steps open after you choose the image.
Step 1: Crop the plan
- Optional: To straighten the plan, click Rotate Image, and then drag the slider until the walls align with the grid.
- Drag the frame so that it contains only the floor plan.
- Click Next.
Step 2: Define the center
All sectors are measured from the center of the home.
- Drag the blue outline to match the inner walls of your home, including any extensions. Baguame marks the center on the plan.
- Click Next.
For an L-shaped or irregular home, you can trace the exact shape later. Baguame then calculates a more precise center, called the Tai Chi point, and measures missing areas.
Step 3: Set north
North determines the direction of every room, so an error here affects all calculators.
- Find true north. If you use a compass, stand in the center of your home.
- Rotate the virtual compass on the plan until its arrow points north.
- Click Next.
You can change north later in the building settings. To improve a phone compass reading, see the guides for Android and iOS.
Result
Baguame saves the building and opens its page. The AI generates What we found in your home, a list of what needs attention and what works in your favor. This can take up to a minute.
The calculators have these requirements:
| Calculator | Also requires |
|---|---|
| Bagua Map | Nothing |
| Flying Stars | Nothing |
| Annual Afflictions | Nothing |
| 24 Mountains | Nothing |
| Eight Mansions | A person |
| Zi Bai Stars | Facing direction |
| Natal Chart Map | Facing direction and construction period |
To find the facing direction and construction period, see How to determine your home's natal chart parameters.
The Home profile on the building page lists the details you haven't added yet.
Common questions
What if I don't have a floor plan?
Sketch the plan by hand and upload a photo of it, or use a screenshot from a property listing or your building's documents. Rough proportions are enough to start.
Can I replace the plan later?
Yes. You can edit the plan in the building settings.
How do I add more floors?
Create the building with one floor, and then add the other floors in the building editor. Each floor has its own plan, rooms, and analysis.
Is my progress saved if I leave the setup?
No. Baguame saves the building when you finish step 3. Your browser warns you before you leave the page.
